Maree Candish

Director, New Forests Asia

Maree Candish leads the New Forests’ Asian team, responsible for the evaluation, acquisition and management of investments in Asia. Maree has 20 years of experience in managing forestry operations and advising on forestry investments in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, China and South America. She was a director and senior manager of P. F. Olsen and Company, New Zealand’s largest forest management service provider. Prior to joining New Forests, she led Poyry’s Australian consulting team, which undertook numerous due diligence, forest valuation and forest carbon related assignments and provided forest policy advice throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Maree has a Bachelor in Forestry (First Class Hons) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, a Masters in Forestry and Land Use from Oxford University and a Masters in Business Administration from Melbourne University. She is based in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
