Marisa Meizlish

Marisa Meizlish directs advisory services, new business development and corporate communications for New Forests. She has extensive knowledge of voluntary and regulated forest carbon markets and has worked on pioneering biodiversity and carbon projects for advisory and investment clients. Recent work has focused on investment theses for reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD) and analyzing environmental market opportunities for land-based investments. Marisa directs New Forests' San Francisco-based operations and leads the company's sustainability activities. Previous work includes roles as a research project manager for Environment Business Australia, public relations management and journalism. Marisa has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northwestern University in Chicago and a Master's of Environmental Management from the University of New South Wales in Sydney. She is based in San Francisco.
